Week 2 College Football Recap

    College football is easily the best sport ever and it is not even close. Many upsets including Notre Dame and Texas A&M that were huge to the rankings and their program as a whole. We even saw Scott Frost take15 million dollars and not coach anymore. Week 2 saw a lot of close matchups and even saw teams show their true colors. Here are my reactions and thoughts to Week 2.


- Texas A&M is one of the worst teams in the SEC, it just doesn't mean more to them. They have to play five top 25 in their next seven games including Miami, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida. Jameis Winston made Jimbo Fisher and has not been the same without him. Texas A&M could go 2-7. 

- Texas beats Alabama with a healthy Quinn Ewers for all four quarters.

- Marcus Freeman is now 0-3 in his first three games a head coach at Notre Dame. Notre Dame will be fine but has a lot to figure out offensively. Tommy Rees needs to figure it out soon.

- USC will make the playoff, if they continue this dominance performance. USC's only hard game comes at Utah and if they win that, they will make the playoff. Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison is the best duo in college football.

- Never schedule Appalachian State.

- I love Sam Hartman. I am so happy he is back and instantly make Wake Forest a contender in the wide open ACC.

- I have no clue who is going to win the Big Ten West. Iowa and Wisconsin can not score points to save their lives. Nebraska does not have a coach. West still does not have a favorite. Maybe Minnesota. Maybe Purdue. Who cares because the East is winning no matter what.

- Georgia is the best team in college football.

- Anthony Richardson went from the most hyped prospect EVER to a regular football player. Richardson did not have a good performance on Saturday but we have to remember that was only his third start ever. He will be fine, he is still raw and learning how to play QB in the SEC.

- The Nebraska job is not compelling. Nebraska does not have a good recruiting backyard and still has to compete in the Big 10. I also will not be taking the Nebraska job, no questions at this game.

- JJ McCarthy is that guy and Michigan will be competing at a higher level now with a better quarterback.

- Kansas beat West Virginia. Is Kansas good at football? Maybe? #MoreThanAFootballSchool

- Bryce Young is the best player in college football. He has a legit shot to win back to back Heismans.

- The Fun Belt is the best conference in college football.

- I am officially starting the Charlie Jones fan club, or as Gus Johnson says "CHUCK SIZZLE." Big Chuckster had 9 catches, 133 recieivng yards, and 3 tuddys for the boys in black and gold. Jones already has 286 yards and 4 tuddys so far this season while he had 323 yards and 3 tuddys for Iowa last season. Charlie Jones is WR1 on my 2023 NFL Draft big board, can't wait for him to play for the Patriots next year.

- North Central is #1. Plan Accordingly. Chase The Lion.

       The Lakers are 0-2 and have one of the best players of all time on their roster. When healthy Anthony Davis is a top 10 player in the NBA, but man does he love wearing a suit on the bench. Or as Charles Barkley would say Anthony "Street Clothes" Davis. This team does not look together and does not look like they practice shooting in practice. Westbrook is constantly being left open and he thinks it's a bad rotation so he shoots. But defenses leave him open on purpose but he still shoots. Bears Big Decision: Justin Fields or Caleb Williams?

       The Bears have one of the most interesting off season decisions to make with either Justin Fields or Caleb Williams. If you were to ask any Bears fan, the fan base is split 50/50 and understandably so. Justin Fields has looked like a different quarterback since coming back from injury and also has 3 games left to prove. The Bears are also still in the playoff picture as well to make a run but seems very unlikely at this point. Lets get into the argument for both sides then I will get into my opinion. Justin Fields : I think the flash has been there the last couple of games and we saw the same thing from Fields to end the year. Also adding DJ Moore was huge for Fields as he finally got a WR1. The Bears have 2 top 5 picks and could focus on building around Fields through the draft. The Bears could do a couple things with the first pick and the most popular would be trading down. Chargers Wide Receivers Situation

    The Los Angeles Chargers went 5-12 last season and fired their head coach mid way through the season. The Brandon Staley era in Los Angeles did not go as planned for the Chargers front office, players, and fans that thought Staley was going to take the league by storm. The era is remembered by the Chargers blowing a 27-0 playoff lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. It was time to move on but they are still in a good situation.  The Chargers have their QB of the future with Justin Herbert who is 25 years old and just signed a 5 year extension, he is locked up to be the Chargers signal caller for many more years to come. But the wide receiver situation could be alarming from the outside looking in. The Chargers are in cap space hell moving into the offseason. The Chargers have to pay Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams all set to have a cap hit of 30 million plus.
